The pilot pay scale is very competitive at Flight Express. We pay a minimum of $12.00 for every hour on duty, regardless of flight time. All runs with 7.5 hours or less of duty time, however, will still pay our minimum annual rate of $23,400. Flight Express also offers free training, great maintenance, excellent medical and dental coverage, numerous pilot bases and schedules, as well as paid vacations and holidays, seniority raises, direct deposit and a 401K program. New pilot employees are eligible for pay during each day of ground and flight training, and a $1,000.00 bonus is paid after the successful completion of the training and initial check ride. In addition, Flight Express will provide new pilots with free room accommodations throughout their training session. While our principal base of operations is in Orlando, we also have pilots and aircraft located in 16 cities throughout the Southeast and Midwest. (Please see our Flight Express Domiciles Page for details). Our seniority based system determines domicile and equipment type, and new applicants must be flexible enough to move anywhere in our system. Transition time from single-engine to multi-engine is based solely on seniority and is currently ranging from 8-12 months. Pease note, all pilots start in the Cessna 210. Pay varies with the length of each run and will be anywhere between $23,400. and $43,600. annually for the first year pilot.

Based on seniority and longevity with the company it is possible to make
$51,480.00 annually flying a 210 or a Baron.


Pilots are required to have the Part 135 IFR PIC minimums per 135.243(c):

  • Commercial Single-Engine certificate with an instrument rating
  • 1200 Hours Total
  • 500 Hours Cross Country - point to point
  • 100 Hours Night
  • 75 Hours Instrument total - up to 25 in a simulator allowed
  • 50 Hours Instrument in FLIGHT - simulated (hood) or actual

Upon transition to the Beechcraft Baron we require the applicant possess a commercial multi-engine certificate with instrument privileges. We do not have second in command, aircraft loader or flight engineer positions.
